In her new role, Ms. Nielsen will manage XL Group’s Toronto-based Environmental underwriting team that helps a wide variety of Canadian businesses address environmental liability concerns with pollution insurance protection and other environmental risks management services.

Prior to joining XL Group earlier this year, Ms. Nielsen amassed more than 10 years of environmental underwriting experience with AIG and ACE in Toronto. Her environmental industry experience also includes tenure as an Environmental Scientist for Aqua Terre Solutions Inc. before beginning her insurance career. Ms. Nielsen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in environmental studies from Royal Roads University, Victoria, British Columbia.
