Simon is our Head of UK Casualty Retail Insurance, overseeing London and regional offices for both environmental and retail products. He has nearly 20 years of experience in environmental liability and three years of experience in the UK casualty business. Earlier roles at XL Catlin have included running the International Environmental unit for eight years, where he was in charge of product development and regional expansion for Europe, Asia and South America. Simon has significant product expertise in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, operational environmental risks and the interaction between environmental policy coverage and casualty forms.
Simon holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in environmental policy and an LLM in environmental law. He also completed an Executive MBA program at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, where he focused on insurance tech and the concepts of disruptive innovation in the commercial insurance market. He’s a former chairman of the Non-Marine Environmental Committee of the International Underwriting Association of London. Simon has written various articles on environmental insurance and spoken at numerous conferences on the topic across Europe.
