Jonathan joined us as Chief Underwriting Officer for global cargo insurance in 2014. He has over 25 years of experience as a marine underwriter and manager.
He started his career with the Lloyd’s cargo claims team before moving to underwriting, working for Commercial Union and RSA. He also spent five years in Dublin with Aon and Northern Marine Underwriters (part of Munich Re). In 2007, he returned to London to join AIG, where he managed some of its largest risk-managed accounts before joining its head office team in 2009 to oversee cargo insurance globally. In 2012, he joined Aviva as head of marine insurance before taking on specialty lines, which included marine, construction, power and engineering, surety and accident and health.
Jonathan has served as an elected member of the Joint Cargo Committee and the International Underwriting Association Technical Marine Committee. His education includes management study at Oxford Business School.
