As the Risk Engineering Leader for EMEA, my objective is to build a strong team of account engineers in the region to provide top-class support to our property underwriting teams.
Besides managing the team, I also support XL Catlin's Energy underwriters in EMEA and our Property team in the Benelux region as part of the risk selection process that is aimed at streamlining their respective business portfolios.

After gaining some initial work experience at Petrofina, I started on my career path in 1993 as a chemical field engineer with Industrial Risk Insurers (IRI). I subsequently joined the XL GAPS team where I have held various roles ranging from field engineering to account engineering both for underwriters and also directly for clients.
In 2010 I was appointed Risk Engineering Leader for the company's EMEA region and currently manage a team of 12 account engineers at various locations across the territory.
I received my Master's in Chemical Engineering from the Free University of Brussels (VUB), Belgium in 1991 and, in 2001, obtained an additional Master's degree in Safety, Health and Environment from the same university.
