Anthony Vidovich is XL Catlin’s Executive Vice President and Global Head of Claims for Insurance and Reinsurance, leading a team of several hundred highly experienced claims professionals located in over 20 countries. The XL Catlin Global Claims Organization is fully integrated by region and by product, leveraging global resources to provide consistent claims service of the highest quality. These technical and regional claims handling capabilities are supported by robust centralized functions in finance, operations, actuarial and legal, as well as a diverse and flexible shared service capability.
Anthony previously served as XL Group’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Global Insurance Claims. After joining XL Group in 2014, Anthony was tasked with creating a team of experienced lawyers to support the international insurance dispute resolution, coverage advice, monitoring counsel, and attendant claims-related legal needs of XL Group’s dynamic, globally active and diverse family of insurance businesses.
Before joining XL Group, Anthony was Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Director of Commercial Markets Law for The Hartford, where he led a 30-member team of experienced lawyers and legal professionals, supporting the Commercial business operations of The Hartford. Anthony previously was the Director of Reinsurance Law for The Hartford, responsible for all reinsurance legal matters of The Hartford's property and casualty, life and legacy businesses. Earlier, Anthony was associated with the law firm of Blank Rome LLP, where his practice centered on financial institutions, including re/insurance companies, regulators and receivers.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Boston University and a Juris Doctor degree, with highest honors, from Rutgers University School of Law. He is active in industry trade associations and philanthropic and charitable organizations. He is an ARIAS*US-certified arbitrator and a frequent speaker at industry conferences. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and two daughters.
